On this project, our brief was to replace an old, word-out lawn situated at the side of a private residence in North London. The owner required a new surface that would be attractive, but which could also be used by children for football and other home sports. Importantly, it would need to look as natural as possible in order to blend in with the rest of the beautifully landscaped gardens, which also included a natural grass lawn.
Based on our site visit and consultation, the client decided on our Belgrave Artificial Grass, which has a 45mm pile. Belgrave is hard-wearing and has a very natural appearance.
Our installation team began by constructing the base, which involved removing the existing turf and laying a solid base made up of 50mm MOT Type 1 hardcore, supplemented with a 25mm granite dust layer. After installing the artificial turf itself, we applied a 2EW silica sand dressing to leave a durable, hard-wearing playing surface that blended in with the rest of the garden.
The lawn was installed as planned, creating a surface this is both attractive and practical. A playground structure was also added to the area upon completion of the artificial grass installation.
