Project: Artificial Grass, Communal Roof-Top Area, London

Client: Elite Landscapes, London

Product: Artificial grass, 30mm pile height

Area: Approx 300m2

Background:

Elite Landscapes won the landscape tender for the exciting, brand new development "Royal Exchange" in the heart of the historic Kingston Upon Thames, South London. This location combines a peaceful riverside location with a speedy 30-minute commute into London.

The remit consisted of a low-maintenance flooring solution for two internal courtyard podium gardens to integrate with areas of natural planting.

After consultation with Berkeley Homes, our client accepted our proposal, and our Ascot 30mm landscape grass proved the ideal solution. To provide an even more luxurious underfoot experience, our Ascot artificial grass was supplement by the addition of our 25mm Pro-play shock pad laid onto a Kinley steel drain base to facilitate the drain-off of water.

The Project:

The completion of three elevated garden podiums with the installations being completed over several visits to dovetail in with the building works.

Two podiums have now been fully completed and we are awaiting instructions as to when we can visit to complete the last phase.

All the materials were lifted to the podium levels with a crane. A silica sand top-dressing was applied to the artificial grass. This has several benefits; the main ones being helping the pile to remain upright, and heat dispersal (as well as fire retardancy).

Result:

Following our installation, residents were able to enjoy a vibrant, natural looking courtyard area - giving them their own relaxing haven, within the surrounding high-paced city.
